A New Path, A New Purpose, A Renewed Partnership

As many of you know, I “refined” my career (a word I far prefer to retired) at the end of June 2025. When I finally gave myself permission to pause, truly pause, I felt a spaciousness I hadn’t known in years. In that quiet space, something unexpected arose: a gentle, persistent question. What now?

It didn’t take long to realize I wasn’t the only one asking the question. Brilliant, wise, capable women all around me were facing powerful transitions in the second half of life…career changes, empty nests, caregiving, loss, reinvention, identity shifts, and the longing to step into the next chapter with authenticity and purpose. And then I remembered: I’ve spent more than two decades helping others navigate transformation. Why stop now?

For over twenty years I have had the gift of working beside my dear friend and soul sister, Geri Topfer. Many of you know her as the founder of Kula for Karma, a pioneering 501(c)(3) that brought therapeutic yoga and mindfulness to underserved communities. Together, we poured our hearts into this work, weaving consciousness, compassion, and community into everything we did.

Two years ago, Geri stepped back to reflect on her next chapter and retired from her role as President & Founder of Kula for Karma. I followed eighteen months later “refining” from Kula, in order to dive deeply into my true passion and focus on Inchanting and other projects that had been percolating. One of our teachers, Sheryl Edsall, once said, “Suddenly, is a whole lot of gradual.” And suddenly, Geri and I realized how extraordinarily meaningful, powerful, and successful our partnership had been. Now that our past collaboration was in the rear view mirror, we began to look forward in unison.  Without the full-time responsibilities that shaped our identities for so long, we were  free to imagine, dream, and design what might come next.  After decades of lived experience we share a deep understanding of the word process and we are ready to pour our energy into what is calling us now, working side by side once again. With that freedom came a spark. Voila! the birth of Whatnow

At ages 64 (Geri) and 73 (me), we began imagining a space for women like us, women who feel something shifting inside. Women who aren’t done growing. Women with fire, curiosity, hunger. Women ready to reinvent or rediscover who they are, Women asking, What Now?

At the intersection of our experience, passion, friendship, and purpose, we created What Now, a gathering place, a sanctuary, a launchpad for women navigating transition.

Women in midlife and beyond carry a depth of wisdom, resilience, and experience that deserves to be honored. We are not “winding down.” We know better. This chapter can be vibrant, expansive, meaningful, and it can also feel messy, disorienting, and tender.

Many of us have spent decades caring for others, building careers, holding families together, tending communities. Eventually, we look up and realize we’re standing at a doorway that requires a new kind of courage, a new kind of inquiry, and a new kind of community.

That’s where What Now comes in. We Offer a space for women in their 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s, and beyond to reflect on who they are and who they are becoming, reconnect to meaning, purpose, and inner wisdom, reimagine their second (or third!) act, realign with their deepest values, rebuild community and connection, rediscover passions and strengths, and reclaim parts of themselves.

Our offerings will include:

  • Retreats and workshops (local, national, and maybe global)

  • Small group circles

  • Online gatherings and community conversations

  • Tools and practices rooted in positive psychology, mindfulness, expressive arts, and science-backed wellbeing

  • Intergenerational dialogues

  • And most importantly: a community that sees and supports one another

What I Know in My Bones: After decades of work in healing, mindfulness, service, yoga, and nonprofit leadership, I know this:

Transformation doesn’t happen to us. Transformation happens because of us. We choose it, we step into it, we say yes to it, and we create space for it.

What Now is that space. If you are standing at a crossroads, if something inside you is shifting, if you're longing for deeper meaning, connection, clarity, if you’re quietly whispering, “What now?” I invite you to join us.

Visit Whatnow to sign up for updates, retreats, gatherings, and announcements, and if you feel called, reach out and tell me where you are on your journey. I would truly love to hear.

Thank you for walking beside me through so many seasons of my life and work. Thank you for your trust, your generosity, and your presence, and thank you for being part of this new beginning.

May this next chapter reveal the strength you’ve earned,
the wisdom you carry, and the beauty of your unfolding.
